VE Day Celebrations

On Friday 8th May 2020, we celebrated the 75th anniversary of VE day in a very different way to how many had planned. Homemade decorations, baking, home learning, picnics in the front garden, celebrating with neighbours (from 2 metres away), finding out about relatives who fought in the war and many other ideas were used on Friday by the staff and children at Colwich Primary School.

However you chose to celebrate, we hope you took a moment to remember the millions of people who lost their lives or loved ones in the conflict. Many of us joined in with the 2 minutes silence at 11am and listened to the Queen’s speech at 9pm.

The Queen said, “our streets are not empty, they are filled with the love and the care that we have for each other”.
