Our School Family
Set in the delightful village of Colwich – easily accessible to many towns and cities via an excellent road link – Colwich Church of England Primary School is a small, thriving and popular primary school serving both the villages of Colwich and Little Haywood. We are a school that is dedicated to providing a broad and balanced curriculum allowing pupils to thrive. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere at the school and the children are at the heart of everything we do.
The school is a Church of England co-educational day school for children aged 4-11 and is part of the Mid-Trent Multi Academy Trust along with St. Peter’s CE Primary School in Hixon and St. Andrew’s CE Primary School in Weston. We provide a high quality education within a rich and well-balanced curriculum for children in their Early Years through to Year 6. Classes are accommodated in the old school building, a listed building of great character and interest and the newer school building just across the playground.
As a Church of England School, we enjoy and benefit from close links with the church of St. Michael and All Angels, Colwich. This is a very productive, mutually supportive partnership and one we are constantly striving to develop further.
The church building is regularly used as an educational resource and worship – for pupils, staff, parents, governors and parishioners – is held there a number of times throughout the school year.
Church members serve as Foundation Governors and we value their many and varied contributions to the life of the school. Reverend Davys is a key member of our school Worship Team and regularly leads collective worship in school.
‘Relationships between all members of the school community are built on mutual respect and are exceptionally strong. Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is firmly rooted in the Christian character.’
